Holy Unction, the anointing with oil of those suffering in body or in soul, occurs within a beautiful service, and one which is not so frequently served in the parish life of this country. At St Philip Church, we strive to serve it every other month. As a sacrament of the Orthodox Church, the anointing with the Holy Oil is for those who have entered the Church through Holy Baptism and Chrismation and live a life accountable to the Church through regular participation in Confession, Holy Liturgy, and Communion.
